I've been making visual and poetic art for years, but for no one other than myself as an outlet and form of therapy. My love for basketball helped me to cross the technological chasm and begin collecting NBA Top Shot (TS) NFTs.
The rabbit hole quickly burrowed it's way into crypto and my lens has expanded to other NFT projects. But I was not prepared for the art NFT space - it's a f*cken rainforest of inspiration. There are so many talented artists and amazing pieces and ingenuity in the space that my mind is blown on a seemingly daily basis. Some aim to 10x their investments in this space. For me, my inspiration has 10x'd, if not 100x'd. So I've decided to forgo my Emily Dickinson ambitions and dive into the abyss and make my art available to the world's consciousness. Please leave your shoes at the door, but welcome to my mind... carmacace The name represents yin & yang, wrapped in family. The base for this pseudonym is Cacace - my last name. In Italian, it translates to sinister or evil. And when the full name is read aloud, the Hindu and Buddhist concept of karma is audible. This idea juxtaposed against sinister/evil represents yin & yang. Good and bad. And the underlying conception that one does not exist without the other. The misspelling of karma is intentional. The C-A-R-M represents the first letters of the names of my kids, my wife, and myself. Hence, the description that carmacace is yin & yang, blanketed in family. Ethos (logos and pathos...?) As a teacher, central to my philosophy on life is the importance of curiosity and the value of learning. Through my art, I aim to continue to learn and listen to input (good and bad) and explore different ideas and mediums so growth will be continual. Likewise, creativity can also be fostered in this way, through the process of learning and exploration. The concepts embedded in my name are consistent with ideologies as an artist. Central to my approach will be to give to charities and causes that I believe in. Additionally, I'm committed to giving back a percentage of any proceeds to the NFT space to help support others/projects. My personal belief is that we are NFTs - the space survives, grows, and thrives through all members within the community. To root for and support others is to support NFTs. |
